VCCS policy allows colleges to consider exceptional freshman and sophomore students. To take these courses, you must demonstrate competence in reading, writing and math. High school juniors and seniors or the homeschooled equivalent are eligible to participate in dual enrollment classes. NOVA’s Dual Enrollment program was the first in Virginia to be accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment and Partnerships (NACEP). Students can take Dual Enrollment classes at a NOVA campus, through NOVA Online, or at certain high schools. As a dual enrolled student, students are enrolled in both high school (or homeschool) and NOVA. Dual Enrollment (DE) allows high school/homeschooled students to earn college credits through NOVA while still enrolled in high school.
